In November, the Committee decided to invest in a topography report and geotech report to help decisions on the new building. The reason why the geotech is required is so that everyone understands what the land is like before it is built on. This will help the Committee with decisions around the type, size, and area where the building can be built.
On 14 February, Stratum Consultants visited the land at Atuaroa Ave and prepared the space for the geotech work.
On 15 February they did the work for us! The tests involved drilling down about 3 metres to take ground samples plus drilling down 20 metres in 9 different places to understand how the building might be constructed.
The Committee expects to hear the results in about 4 weeks.
